About us

Matt is responsible for driving the business’ strategy and growth plans. He firmly believes that “people buy people” and relationships are key to the growth of any successful business. As such, he spends a lot of his time building quality relationships with people who share the same values as he does – collaboration, growth and family first.

Matt is a qualified Accountant and has worked across a range of industries from Construction/Engineering to Automotive and over the last 10 years within Technology. Prior to Start.biz, he was Finance Director of an I.T business which he led on a buy-and-build process via four acquisitions before eventually selling into Private Equity. More recently, he has built a part-time Finance Director portfolio and worked on business investments and disposals working closely with the Professional Services sector.

Out of work, Matt likes to run, watch as much rugby/cricket as he is able to (occasionally accompanied with a pint!) and spend time with Michaela and their two little, amazing and very energetic boys!

Michaela worked at a Birmingham based Solicitors for 10 years having qualified in 2012.  Following the birth of her children she stopped practicing as a solicitor, she then worked and volunteered at a SME and CIC which assisted the neurodiverse community to gain paid employment.  In 2020, she became one of the directors at National Business Register Group, the parent company to Start.biz. Michaela is able to fully appreciate the role and responsibilities of a business owner through her own experience and legal knowledge.

In her spare time, you are likely to find Michaela with her husband, Matthew, and two sons getting muddy in a park.  Michaela doesn’t shy away from messy play and has been witnessed encouraging the mixing of play dough colours and playing with glitter!

Corin has been involved in many aspects of the company for over 25 years, helping clients with a wide range of IP and compliance needs including business name registration, company formation and company secretarial services. Maintaining relationships with clients and partners alike, Corin enjoys speaking to clients to help determine their needs and provide a suitable solution.

Corin is an experienced runner and guide runner, having completed over 20 marathons to date.

Mitch began his IP career in 1991 and is now our specialist trade mark and design division manager during which time he has developed many long-standing and close relationships with clients offering proactive strategic IP advice.  Mitch has substantial experience working with a range of clients in relation to all aspects of trade mark and design matters including the management of trade mark portfolios and the prosecution of contentious and non-contentious IP matters.

Mitch enjoys playing golf and going to the gym.

Anne has been with the company since 1987, started as an Office Junior then receptionist, and now Administration Manager.

Anne is highly experienced in processing Ltd Incorporations and Business Name Registrations, also registering you domain name/web package requirements and is responsible for processing your payments/renewals/invoices and very importantly answering the telephone to our lovely customers.

At weekends Anne likes to spend time with her Hubby and family, enjoys country walks, yoga and the occasional gin and tonic.

Wendy started her career with National Business Register in 1987 to which she reluctantly concedes, but throughout her many years, she has fortunately experienced a variety of roles in all departments from administrative, bookkeeping, and Intellectual property along with taking care of team morale. These roles have all aided her to develop and grow as a person working with a highly skilled diligent team.

Wendy’s days start with chocolate and end with chocolate, which is vital to improve performance at work and she is available to partake in any further research studies on this matter in her spare time.
